Prague

Day two

We headed off first thing to the markets, here you could find all kinds of random things from tyres to adult magazines to old rusty hand tools to even grenades and tazer guns. Yea it was interesting.... Safe to say we didnt buy anything.

Us three at the markets

An idea of what the markets were like.

From the markets we hopped on a train to see the Kostnice (The bone church) in Kutna Hora. The Church is surrounded by a cemetry and at the time of the thirty years’ war in the 17th century, the number of burials outgrew the space available, so the older remains began to be exhumed and stored in the chapel, and it’s estimated that the chapel now contains the bones of up to 40,000 people. When looking at the bones you could see wound marks and some of the skulls still had teeth. It was a very eery feeling going inside. After looking inside the church we went across the road to try a traditional cake of the Czech republic, boy was it good! Lauren, David and Paul took it a step further and got themselves a hot dog.. I of course did not.

After waiting a while for a train we got back to the city centre and had a nice walk around town in the evening. It was really pretty at night time with everything lit up around the city. That night Lauren and I also went on a ghost tour of Prague... there were over 70 legends to tell however we only heard 4? It was quite funny and they got people to jump out and scare us on our way around the city.
