First European Country - Prague

Day One

We arrived late on Thursday night and woke up early on Friday to get stuck into the sight seeing. We awoke to a beautiful Friday and decided to walk into town. We wandered along the river, taking in the beatuiful scenery, to the Old Town Square. We grabbed a coffee and while waiting for our walking tour to start we watched the Astronomical clock strike 11am. This is an amazing clock which dates back to 1410, so it celebrated its 600th anniversary on October the 9th 2010. As you can tell from the picture it has a number of dials which all represent different things. Below the clock is a calendar which has 365 Czech names, one of these names must be chosen for a new born as the Czech republic celebrates their birthday and their name day.

We then headed over to meet our walking tour guide. We spent the next few hours walking around the beautiful city listening to the guides stories and learning the history of the old city.
