Priscilla

Paul and I went to see Priscilla tonight as it was on our list of shows to see. It was very funny and we had a good night. There was a special guest in the show, he plays Alf on Home and Away so it was very cool to see him in it.

We made our way to Oxford by train which took around an hour. Unfortunately the weather wasnt that great however we still had a nosey around. We hadn't eaten breakfast so went for the traditional english breakfast at a pub, it was delicious! From there we walked through Oxford, saw some of the sights including the Bodleian library which is being done up, Christ Church College, Bridge of Sighs and more.

Valentines Day

Tonight was a special night so we all decided to do something nice for the evening. we booked tickets to go up the Tower Bridge with other couples. It turned out really well, we had a glass of champagne on arrival and some lovely chocolate dipped strawberrys. YUM! We even got to witness a proposal.. well the end of it. The bridge was was red inside and had a lady playing the harp, very fancy!

Today was the most exciting day ever! We finally went to Tower of London. We saw how the castle was laid out, the Crown jewels which includes one of the biggest diamonds in the world, read about the history of the royal family, but the most exciting part was the knights armour!!

Exhausting ourselves with reading information, we decided to head to the cafe for some afternoon tea, this included a cuppa tea with the traditional scone with clotted cream and jam YUM!

Les Miserables

Tonight after work, we headed off to go and see Les Miserables. While walking to the show we went through China Town which we hadnt seen before, it was very pretty! The show was around 3 hours so is longer than the ones we have seen, but it was really good. I didnt realise (and ashamed to say) that the song 'I dream a dream' comes from this show...

We didnt realise the pub crawl started off so early, as we made our way to Notting Hill at 10.30am. We hopped off the tube and walked out of the tube station to find thousands of people standing around drinking. Yes they were all (well 90%) kiwis. We pushed our way through the crowds to find our own little spot to starting drinking and to stare at all the people. On this day quite a few people like to dress up, so there were people dressed in the four square uniform, the mad butcher uniform, two guys represented the mongrel mob and a lot more. The idea of the pub crawl was that you started in Paddington and made your way back round, using the cirle line tube (which wasnt working this weekend) and it was around 27 stops. There were pubs you were meant to go to at each stop but there were so many people you couldnt go near the pub. Although this did make it cheap as we just drink on the street with our lollie water.

As we had to walk to the stops due to the tube not working, we made our way to Westminster Abbey where there was a Haka performance at 4pm. The police were really friendly and calm about the whole thing, I suppose because it is done every year and it would be pretty hard to arrest around 7 thousand people.. After Westminster Abbey, Rael and I saw a friend we knew so we went back to his place for a few more drinks and dancing. It was a really great day, although I did have a headache around 9pm from drinking all day so I think we were home by around 10.30pm.
